Hyperlite Rewritten Wakeboard Video

After nearly three years in the making, the Hyperlite crew unveils the fruits of their labors, the Rewritten wakeboard video. Hyperlite claims to have ‘rewritten’ the standard with this video and after looking at the mega rainbow rail and the huge floats off of the double-ups, I have no choice but to agree with them.

The Hyperlite Rewritten wakeboard video features the riding of Rusty Malinoski, JD Webb, Shaun Murray, Jimmy LaRiche, Erik Ruck, Brian Grubb, Brandon Thomas and Mike Schwenne.

New Arnette Sunglasses for Fall 2009

Arnette announces the release of five new styles of sunglasses for Fall 2009. The Alter Ego, Agent, Defy, Snap and Wanted seamlessly fuse the best in contemporary street styling with the hard-charging, action sports lifestyle Arnette is rooted in.

All five frames, along with the rest of Arnette’s fashion-forward products, employ the highest-grade polycarbonate lenses available to block out 100% of harmful UV rays. Many styles are offered with polarized lens options, and all Arnette frames are constructed with either high-luster acetate or lightweight yet durable Grilamid nylon plastic.

Arnette Agent Sunglasses

The Agent is a throwback style featuring classic lines, rich acetate frame material, medium sized lenses and a mixed bag of low-key and pop colors to ensure retro-freshness from sun up to sun down. Colors include (frame/lens): Gloss Black/Grey, White/Blue-Grey Gradient, Crystal/Grey Mirror Silver Gradient, Brown Havana/Brown, Yellow/Grey Gradient, and Orange/Grey Gradient.

Arnette Snap Sunglasses

Sleek lines, full-wrap styling, and a large square frame define the Snap. Action sports eyewear ballers, anon Optics, has released their 2009 Summer sunglasses collection.

What makes anon’s collection especially unique is the variety of colors in each of the styles. anon Optics has released a few styles such as the Hombre and Contender in a “Blacked Out / Murdered Out” color where details are black on black. And black on black is how we roll.

Reef Sandals recently released a three and a half minute surf-inspired commercial to promote their new Reef Vision Sandal. In between cutties and barrels of the Reef surfing team, we are given glimpses of the ultra-modern Reef Vision Sandal. The new sandal is so tech, it even has air gaps underneath the heel (similar to a sneaker) just in case you plan on dunking on someone while coming home from the beach.

And when all hope is almost lost, we see our favorite part about Reef advertisements - the Reef girls.

Parks Bonifay Documentary Wakeboarding Movie Trailer

After filming from locations all over the world and the last five years in production, the Parks Bonifay Documentary is finally here. This tale, this man, his unconventional youth and unbelievable adulthood, flirting with disaster, challenging life, the triumphs of winning everything in sight, and tribulations of incomprehensible injury, all add up to one thing: his movie.

Come along as the life of an extraordinary athlete and his incredible family and childhood unfolds before you. It’s a life worth seeing: from the time in Omaha when we watched helplessly as the sports’ greatest all-time athlete almost drowned in three feet of water, to a broken steering cable on a rickety film boat bobbing in the Teahupoo channel, to the historical footage of an infant on the water. The story of Parks Bonifay brings both never seen before mind blowing content and the untold core story of the most highly acclaimed athlete in wakeboarding.

The Parks Bonifay Documentary video will be released in early June.

On May 2-3, Upper Playground is hosting Stoked Sessions Los Angeles 2009, an art auction and fundraiser for Stoked Mentoring. Every year Stoked teams up with the best artists in action sports, street and fine art to produce original pieces, with 100% of the sales benefiting Stoked Mentoring. This year, Upper Playground is proud to present Stoked Sessions: “I Love LA” at their flagship location in Los Angeles.
