
Today, the world of action sports mourns the loss of French Olympic snowboarder, Karine Ruby.
Karine had been training to become a mountain guide when she was claimed in a mountain climbing accident on the highest peak in Western Europe, Mont Blanc. Karine was 31 years old.
Karine Ruby was a pioneer in competitive women’s snowboarding as she was a six-time world champion, won a gold medal in the Giant Slalom at the 1998 Winter Olympics in Nagano, Japan and a silver medal in the Parallel Giant Slalom at the 2002 Winter Olympics in Salt Lake City.
