Four time Association of Surfing Professionals World Champion, Lisa Anderson, recently visited Channel Islands Surf Shop in Santa Barbara, CA to meet her fans and to sign copies of her new biography, Fearlessness: The Story of Lisa Anderson.
Lisa Anderson, if not the greatest female surfer of all time, is arguably the most influential. While Layne Beachley’s seven world championships trump Anderson’s four, Anderson (with the help of Quiksilver) has transformed not only women’s surfing but built the foundation for women’s action sports. If the Roxy brand would have flopped in surfing, it is doubtful that surf brands would have further expanded into women’s markets in snowboarding, skiing, wakeboarding, etc.
