Blueline Stand Up Paddle Sports, the newest surf shop in Santa Barbara, celebrated their grand opening today. And in grand fashion, a few hundred people showed up to check out the selection of stand up paddle boards as well as meet one of surf’s royalty, Gerry Lopez. As gracious as ever, Gerry was on hand to meet the Santa Barbara crew as well as to sign his recent book, Surf is Where You Find It.
As Santa Barbara gets a bit light on surf for half of the year, stand up paddling has become a popular activity at the local breaks. That is not to say that you can’t ride SUPs when it is cranking (check out the Blueline website for evidence), but for a town with a lot of surfers that are looking for a new reason to get wet, stand up paddling is a welcome addition.

i have a gerry lopez surf board. got in 1980. it was shaped by tony hauk, and its gerry lopez’s board. its yellow, with red and orange pin striping. its a twin fin, 6′2″’s. it has the twin dragen’s and a star lighting bolt on the front. on the back it has another small lighting bolt. it’s really a good looling board in good shape what do you think its worth?ps i got it in waikiki it is printed in the board.
