The X Games 14 Skateboard Big Air competition took place last night at Staples Center in Los Angeles, California. Not only did Jake Brown make his return to the X Games but so did the founder of Big Air, Danny Way, return after missing X Games 13 due to a knee injury.
The Big Air event continues to push the limit of skateboard insanity. Bob Burnquist defended his X Games 13 Big Air title by launching a switch backside 180 ollie over the gap followed by a massive Indy 360. Danny Way placed second with an incredible performance that will be primarily remembered for his slams as opposed to his stomps. After surviving a rag doll of epic proportions on one run and slamming his head on another, Danny Way returned to the ramp and dropped a backflip indy over the gap to a 540 varial to take home the silver. Jake Brown, another testament of human courage, came in third place.
